Final Multiplier Event in Brussels
On Tuesday the 30th of November, ESN hosted the final multiplier event of the Upskilling Lab 4.0 project, titled “Upskilling Lab 4.0 | Navigating Industry 4.0 Together”.
The event explored how open innovation and collaborations between startups and established companies are on the rise in complex verticals such as Industry 4.0, and how partnerships, if well executed, result in real win-wins for everyone involved. Furthermore, it highlighted challenges Industry 4.0 ventures are faced with and recent solutions co-developed with agile ecosystem partners, and provided first-hand feedback from established Industry 4.0 players.
During the event, Jan Bormans from ESN provided an overview of the goals achieved by Upskilling Lab 4.0 and presented in detail some of the outputs of the project.

Ynbusiness
Inqubator Leeuwarden gets regular updates on the regional start-ups and established companies in Industry 4.0 from Ynbusiness. This is an organisation that primarily aims at fostering the growth of companies, which also include those in Industry 4.0. Moreover Ynbusiness is one of the 12 partners in Smart Industry Hub Noord. This is set up for all Northern companies in The Netherlands (Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe) in the manufacturing and process industry, where Industry 4.0 is involved. Smart Industry Hub Noord helps and supports these companies in becoming smarter.
As Inqubator and Ynbusiness are in close contact (also being neighbours in the same building), Ynbusiness not only informs Inqubator on relevant updates related to companies in Industry 4.0. It also provides Inqubator the possibility to get in touch with the start-ups or spin-offs of established companies in Industry 4.0, as they have the potential to become “inqubatees” on their way to become scale-ups.
